Welcome to Africa!

We made it! 40+ hours later we arrived in Livingstone! There were 4 new volunteers that arrived on the same flight with us, and we all got picked up at the airport and headed to the volunteer house (The Livingstone Backpackers).

The first day was very overwhelming being in this new unfamiliar place, living with new people, and getting lots of information thrown at us. We had shared rooms with bunk beds, ours had 8 girls and we had a bathroom in our room, which was very convenient. The mosquito nets we brought were surprisingly easy to set up and were a lot more comfortable to sleep under than I would have imagined. You can see a picture of my bed below.

By the time we were settled in we were all so exhausted. I decided to get a good nights sleep to prepare for the next day.
